Overview: Up for sale is this very beautiful print, "Forbidden Garden, Santa Barbara Mission," by renowned California artist, Pedro J. de Lemos. Mr. de Lemos is one of the most famous California artists and educators in the Craftsman era. He was very well-known for his color woodblock prints, but also had a very successful career as an educator, architect and painter. This piece appears to be a woodblock print, and includes a printed cover page on tracing paper over the image. This piece shows a nighttime scene of the Forbidden Garden at the Santa Barbara Mission. It is signed (in the print) at lower right). I believe it dates to the early 1920s. An incredible piece.
Condition: The print is in excellent condition. No noticeable condition issues. There is an extremely faint crease in the upper right portion of the tracing/cover page.
Print measures approximately 9.625 inches high x 7.375 inches wide. Image measures approximately 6.625 inches high x 4.375 inches wide.
