"Kaiju Zukan" was a series by Kenshi Yonezu published in the Japanese rock magazine "ROCKIN'ON JAPAN" from the August 2013 issue to the December 2015 issue. Each month, Yonezu himself introduced "fictional monsters" he created, with illustrations and text. From their physical characteristics to where they live, what they eat, how they live, and sometimes, how they die... he spun the stories of unique monsters with detailed illustrations and text that made you feel their breath.
For this book, 13 new monsters were drawn, bringing the total to 41 monsters. Furthermore, it was decided that a new song, "love," which expresses the world of "Kaiju Zukan" through music, would be included.
