ONKYO AV Center SA-205HD Sound Muddling/Sound Dropout Troubleshooting - 2504

The Onkyo SA-205HD, a small and lightweight AV center, has relays in series for each of the three speaker (SP) circuits: "Front L/R," "Center," and "Surround L/R." Over time, contact failure in these relays can cause muffled sound, making normal listening difficult. Therefore, I have devised an "electrical countermeasure" that bypasses the relay contact points using LED indicators and toggle switches.

Before listing this item, I have confirmed that the following inputs and outputs are functioning correctly: "Line1-3," "Optical-1, -2," "HDMI1-1, -2" inputs, and "Speakers (Front L/R, Center, Surround L/R, Subwoofer)" and "TV" outputs. I have also confirmed the fan is operating.

1. Instructions
* Three LEDs and switches corresponding to the three relays are located on the right side of the unit (see photo). When the product is shipped, the switch levers are in the down position, and the "electrical countermeasure" is not activated.
* When the unit is powered on, the LED corresponding to the listening mode will illuminate.
* By moving the switch lever below the illuminated LED from the down position to the up position, the "electrical countermeasure" is activated, and normal sound will be produced.
* You do not need to touch the three switches during normal listening.

2. The items included are the "SA-205HD" unit (with minor dirt and scratches on the top cover, see photos) and a self-made document titled "(Outline of Measures Against Muffled Sound/Sound Dropout)." Please prepare the "Remote Control (RC-678S)" and "Instruction Manual" separately.

3. Other
* Returns will be handled according to the Mercari Guide "Product Return Procedure." My approach is as follows:
* "Please proceed with the item return procedure after an agreement is reached with me (the seal on the top cover of the item must not be removed, and you must contact me regarding the return via email or phone within 7 days of the item's arrival). The buyer is responsible for the return shipping costs. " Please refer to the "Self-Made Attached Document" for the shipping address, etc. I will confirm that the item's seal has not been broken and then apply for cancellation on Mercari. The product price will be returned to the buyer according to the payment method after the transaction is canceled.
