Order of the Eastern Star Holy Bible (A.J. Holman ca. 1954) large format 12X9.5

Rare large format (roughly 12in x 9.5in) leatherbound hardcover copy The Order of the Eastern Star issued Holy Bible (A.J. Holman Company, circa 1954). Self-pronouncing edition of the Old & New Testaments translated out of the original tongues. Beautiful edition, issued by and to members of the Masonic organization similar to the Freemasons, although OES is co-ed. No print date but gilded inscription on front cover says it was presented to a member in 1953-1954. Additionally, the list of “past matrons” begins at 1960.

Gilded page edges, five attached tassel ribbon bookmarks, gilded text and design to cover and spine, and OES-issued bookmark included. Moderate rubbing to covers and shelf wear. Some blemishes to outer edges of text block including scuffing and some tearing (tape has beed adhered to a few larger tears). Writing on Matrons page and discoloration near a few gutters from binding glue. A few instances of split binding though all pages remain attached and spine is straight.
